Put the new battery in, then luckily a couple guys showed up to ride my MX track and helped me put the seat frame back in. The seat frame is almost worse than the starter! Hopefully I don't have to remove it again for a long time. If I do, I'll try to remember to take out some of the bolts holding the metal covers on so they aren't in the way. Turned the key on and hit the starter and it fired right up.:) Then I had to take the pins out holding the backhoe on so I could pull the machine ahead enough to get the back cover behind the battery on. I had a piece of angle supporting the boom that damaged the wiper seal on the cylinder a little. I'm going to try to keep the cylinder clean and just keep an eye on it. I don't want to take the cylinder apart just to replace a wiper seal. You can but neoprene sleeves to help protect seals on motorcycle forks. I wonder if something like that would be good on hydraulic cylinders.
